Scandic Järva Krog - Room 823 (upgraded room)

This time on the 8th floor and the room interior very similiar to 812, but as it's an even room nr the view is towards the city.

This bathroom is with bathtub:

And 2 showers...I do not quiet get the concept, but it's nice ;)

Hotel Dorint, Amsterdam Airport - Room 689 (Executive floor)

When you have a Dorint card you are normally upgraded to the 6th floor. And normally when staying at the 6th floor the minibar is included, but I'll check that every time I check in to be sure as once it was not included :S

The room as 369 description , but with a nice orchid on the desk :)

Hotel Dorint. Amsterdam Airport - Room 625 (Executive floor)

Back again at Dorint :) - so easy to get to the hotel with the shuttle bus and you do not need to discuss address or price with a taxi driver. However if you need a taxi, I recommend Marcus taxi - always good service and clean cars.

Please read the review of room 369 - same interior except for the drawing on the wall ;). No big differences between the rooms, but what's included as free minibar, bathrobe, slippers etc.

Nice with a big fluffy bathrobe :) - this can be used if you want to pay a visit to the SPA area
which is next to the gym.

Scandic Järva Krog - Room 900 (superior room)

Back on the 9th floor, but this room was a little bit different furnished than some of the other rooms on the 9th floor. Lighter materials and room for a small couch.

The bathroom with floor heating :)
It has not been renovated but it wouldn't hurt to change the shower or at least descale it.
The toilet was very low - not that I minded - but take when you use it, there's a long way down...
In this bathroom no heated towel rail.

Scandic Järva Krog - Room 909 (superior room)

Back to Scandic Järva Krog :)

Please check out the review of room 1016, very much the same interior except for the view is as in room 1021. From the uneven room nrs you have view towards the city and the even room nrs are facing Statoil/Audi Järva Krog.

Scandic Järva Krog - Room 812 (upgraded room)

After the renovation of the hotel last year the rooms from 3rd-8th floor have the same interior, but in the rooms on the 8th floor you also have coffee/the facilities and a fridge.

The view from this side is not too exiting, but in summer time you can enjoy the sun setting.

The bathroom with shower cabinet.
A big mirror over the wash basin, but no add make-up mirror.

Best Western Crown - Room 420

Went back to Mönchengladbach for another stay and chose this time Best Western Crown, situated not far from the Holiday Inn and with a supermarket next door.
The hotel offers admittance free of charge to the nearby fitness center - First Fitness - you pay 5€ when you enter the center and get a refund at the hotel reception. The fitness center is great, very big and plenty of different machines to use.

Got a room on the highest floor, 4th floor, and the room standard was fine, db. bed, a small sitting and working area. A small minibar under the tv, but as the supermarket was next door, there's no reason to buy high priced water at the hotel ;)

<- in the corridor on the left hand was the bathroom and on the right hand a closet.

The bathroom was small but had everything - even an adjustable make-up mirror :) As you can see in the mirror the was also space for a heated towel rail.
A shower cabinet behind the door.

The breakfast buffet was good, different cold and hot dishes to choose from. I will probabaly choose to stay here next time I'm in Mönchengladbach ;)

Holiday Inn - Room 517 (superior room)

First time in Mönchengladbach :) but unfortunately I didn't have time to explore the city nor the surroundings. The first impression of the hotel was that it seemed a bit "old fashioned", but at least the room wasn't. Friendly staff at the front desk...But I do not understand why internet is not included in the room rate today, it should be offered free of charge by all hotels today, it costed 13€ pr. day.

I got a room on the 5th floor, just next to elevators but I didn't hear any noise, neither from guests.
A nice and spacious room with different seating areas. The bed was good and you could choose between 4 different fillings in the pillows, haven't seen that before ;)
A small working area but no plugs. The only place I found 1 (one!) plug was next to the bed used for the trouser press. A minibar with a small selection of snacks and beverages.
Compared with the rest of the room the bathroom was small, but it was ok. Lots of towels and a small heater below the wash basin. Tried to turn it on and soon it got very hot in the room, but have probably been nice during this cold winther. The only remark I have to the bathroom was the make-up mirror was placed rather high and could not be adjusted and when you not 6 foot tall, it wasn't that useful.
The breakfast buffet was nice, many different things to choose from and looked appetizing.

Hotel Dorint, Amsterdam airport - Room 693 (Executive floor)

At my stay this time I was upgraded to Executive floor on the 6th floor. Very nice service from the front desk and appreciated from my side of course :)
The room interior was similiar to the previous room I stayed in - please read room 369 review, except for bathrobe/slippers, another brand of shampoo/soap and an orchid.

The best thing was that the minibar was free of charge ;)) - snacks and beverages.

Scandic Järva Krog - Room 1021 (superior room)

Check out the review of room 1016, however this room has view towards Stockholm. In the morning you have the sun rising, can be really beautiful :)

Scandic Järva Krog - Room 915 (superior room)

I will not bore you with another review of a Scandic room at Järva Krog ;), but refer to one about room 1016. Very much the same room and interior except this is on the 9th floor :)

Hotel Dorint, Amsterdam airport - Room 369

If you have business in the area of Schipol airport (or Lijnden area), I recommend this hotel. I have meetings in Lijnden, and though Park Plaza is situated closer I still prefer staying at Dorint. There's a free shuttle bus from Schipol to the hotel and you do not have to book a seat. The staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is relaxed. My impression of the hotel is also that it's much fresher and kept in better condition.
The selcetion at the breakfast buffet is great with lots of different cold/hot food to choose from. The staff at the restaurant is very effective, so hold on to your table otherwise it might have been cleaned while selecting more to eat.

A really great and big bed with a "real" duvet, so nice :) - one of the best beds I have slept in at the different hotels.
There's a workingspace with cable, plugs and a decent chair to sit in - and the wireless is free of charge, of course.

Not that it matters too much, but it's not that often you see an old fashion CRT ;) in a hotel.

Iron board in the room and the possibility to make cup of coffee or tea.

The bathroom is light and comfortable. A small selection of necessities, such shampoo, lotion, cotton buds, nail file etc. And really nice with a make-up mirror, thank you for thinking of us women :)

Hmm..strange that this has not been removed?!?

YES!! - really great fitness room with different cardio machines and good space for exercising with weights...recommenable!

Scandic Järva Krog - Room 1016 (superior room)

Another stay at Scandic Järva Krog - actually I stay there almost every week, but I will spare you for all the rooms ;) - only if the rooms are not alike I will review them otherwise I think you will be too bored.

This room is situated on the top floor - the 11th floor is conference floor.

Renovated last year and really an improvement with much lighter and modern furnitures.
A queen size bed with a quilt and 2 pillows - no plugs by the bed which is a bit annoying, you have to use the ones at the desk.

A desk with good lightning if you need to work, however the chair is not that comfortable as it can't be adjusted. Flat screen tv with mainly Swedish channels, but also some foreign as BBC, Discovery and Animal Planet.
In the room you also find a fridge (empty), an ironboard in the closet, hairdryer and coffe/the maker

The bathroom is ok, but not renovated which is a petty. It's OK but the shower is in need of a change, much better and softer in some of the standard rooms where you also find a rainshower.
A heated towel rail and plenty of towels (extra set in the closet)

A big mirror but no make-up light or a make-up mirror and no necessities.

Rica Hotel Kungsgatan - Room 528

This hotel is situated centrally in Stockholm and in walking distance to the central station, theater, cinema and shopping. The reception is on the 4th floor and from there and up the rooms are.
The downside with this room was that they started aorund 6.30 in the morning to build their booths on the square and that was not noiseless...maybe a room towards the yard was a better choice....

View from the room - 5th floor
It doesn't seem newly renovated, but the room was clean and the standard ok.
Possibilty to make coffee/the or buy something from the mini-bar, a small selection of snacks and drinks. 2 bathrobes and slippers at your disposal.

View from the entrance

A small desk in the corner (you can just see the desk chair on the left side in the picture below) and a flat screen tv with plenty of TV channels to choose from.

A smaller bathroom but with all necessities in case you forgot - no toothbrush/-paste though.

The shower with a heated towel rail, really nice to dry yourself with a dry and warm towel at this time of the year, but not well placed as it was very close to the shower.

Shampoo and conditioner - nice :) - and 2 different showers...have not really figures out yet, why 2?!? If you know the reason, please let me know.

Hotel hallway
The breakfast was good with a selection of hot and cold food, cerals, fresh fruit, bread etc.
If you want to stay in the city center this is a good choice, but a bit too pricey I think compared to other hotel (-standards) downtown.

Scandic Järva Krog - Room 721 (standard room)

Scandic Järva Krog is situated appr. 6.5 km outside Stockholm city center, but very convient and close to my office. The staff at the hotel are the most friendly and helpful I have met during my stays in Stockholm and you're always greeted by name when you're arrive.

The hotel has renovated all the rooms starting from the top floor. The interior in the room is light and "Scandinavian", no heavy furnitures that you have a hard time moving.
The lightning in the room is very good, many lamps and different lightsources.

Free wifi in all the rooms :)

A small desk with plenty of sockets so you can charge all your gadgets.
All rooms have an ironboard and a hairdryer. Especially the iron possibility in the room I really appreciate.

Your trolley easily fit on the footstole.

.
The beds are equipped with a quilt and the madras is good and have the right soft/hardness.

A smaller bathroom with 2 different showers, a normal and a rainshower. There are plenty of towels if you need as extras can be found in the closet.

Radisson Blu Hotel Champs Elysées, Paris - Room 204

A very central located hotel only 50 meters from Arc de triomphe de l'Étoile

Friendly and helpful staff helped me checking in and I was booked in room 204 - 2nd floor towards the street. A big db. bed with nice big cushions.

The room was nice and modern stylished with a big flat screen tv facing the bed. Though facing the street I wasn't disturbed by the traffic. It was possible to adjust the room tempature, but not needed as it was nice a warm.

The bathroom had plenty of light and a good magnifying make-up mirror with back light, not very nice when you come home late at night and you really see how tired you are, but indeed useful in morning when doing make-up.

Supplied with shampoo, lotion and some other amenities.
The only thing I will point out is that some glazed tiles were missing around the bathtub which made it look used and not well kept.

The continental breakfast was fine, freshly baked bread, croissants, coffee/the, juice and cerals after your choice.

The price is a bit high, I think, but worth it if you need a central located hotel.

Hotel Aspery, Patong - Room 306 (Jr. Suite)

Almost the same size* and decoration as room 101, but as it was on the 3rd floor a lot more light came in the windows.
In both rooms there was a possibility to make  the/coffe. this was refilled every day.
You get 2 complimentary water, but I think that's standard in all hotels in Thailand more or less.

No neighbour opposite so you do not have to pull the curtains when you're in the room. As this was on the other side of the building the room is reversed.

*Due to a lot bigger balcony the room was a litlle bit smaller than 101, but worth having this outside space.

The airconditioning was ok and not too noisy.

A nice big bathroom with shower and bathtub. The pressure on the water was not that good, so I think it would have taken several hours to fill the bathtub - didn't tried it ;)

A big big mirror over the washbasin and lots of space to put your toiletries.
A nice big balcony with 2 chairs and a table and also room for 2 sunbeds. A bit hot to lay there during the day time, but laying there in the evening enjoying a cup of coffee was nice.

The view from the balcony and if the trees hadn't been that high, you would have been able to see the beach, it's just behind. (The white roof is the next hotel The Nap.)

I will recommend this room because of the balcony and no neighbours opposite.
